Designed for the parent in the hardest moment.

A telemedicine app for Miami Children's Hospital — making remote pediatric consultations simple and fast.

The Challenge

Parents of pediatric patients have enough to worry about. A telemedicine app for Miami Children's Hospital (now Nicklaus Children's Hospital) needed to make remote consultations feel simple and secure — not like navigating insurance bureaucracy at 11pm. The stakes were high, the users were stressed, and the existing options weren't designed for either.

The Approach

Design for the parent in the hardest moment. Clear copy. Obvious flows. No unnecessary steps between "I need a doctor" and "appointment confirmed." The work covered iOS, Android, and web — with precise developer specs handed off to each platform's engineering team. Every screen had one job.

01 — Flow

Booking should take seconds, not minutes.

Finding an available time slot and booking it should take seconds, not minutes. The appointment screen was built around surfacing availability clearly and reducing the friction of selection to a single tap. Visual confirmation at every step — because when a child is sick, parents need to trust the system completely. Ambiguity has no place here.

02 — Trust

Security that feels like care, not compliance.

The payment flow was designed to feel secure without feeling clinical. Clear copy reinforced privacy and trust standards at each step — because a parent handing over payment information for a child's medical appointment needs confidence, not anxiety. Icons and language worked together to make security visible and the process feel genuinely safe.

03 — Handoff

Design doesn't end at handoff.

Detailed iOS and Android specs — measurements, states, behaviors — were critical for the development team to implement the experience accurately. Close collaboration with the engineering team meant fewer surprises during build and a product that matched the design intent on every platform. Specs weren't documentation; they were communication.

Built for a moment that matters.

MCH Anywhere was built for a moment that matters. When a child is sick and a parent needs answers, the last thing they should be fighting is confusing software. The app launched and served Miami Children's Hospital's patient families — now under the Nicklaus Children's Hospital brand. A straightforward brief, executed with care and close collaboration across design and engineering.

The work.
